Our goal
The Oceano Azul Foundation in partnership with the Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos (FFMS), has outsourced the University of Porto to develop a study on the state-of-the-art of marine sciences in Portugal.

Impact
A new map of the state-of-the-art of marine sciences in Portugal.
Description
This initiative aims at establishing a baseline of understanding the impact of Portuguese marine sciences in all domains, and position them in the international context to allow a strategic view on the most competitive areas and the main gaps.
A report with the current situation of the marine sciences in Portugal including the geographical characterization, current developments and future perspectives will be delivered, together with a strategic overview for their development in the next years. This report will benefit the blue economy and will be sent to the government and made available to the general public. A free to use webpage with all information available will be built.
This project started in December 2016 and will have the duration of two years.
