Oceano Azul Foundations’ first campaign aims to change behaviors to save Oceans
“If it doesn’t go in the bin it goes in the sea” is the motto of the campaign promoted by the Oceano Azul Foundation and the Oceanário de Lisboa, in partnership with Olá. This initiative aims to bring attention to one of the planet’s greatest environmental problems: marine litter, particularly plastic pollution. This is Oceano Azul Foundation’s first publicity campaign. In its mission to look at the planet’s sustainability from the ocean’s point of view, this campaign amplifies the importance of each one’s participation in the reduction of litter that reaches the sea and the beaches daily.
The campaign “If it doesn’t go in the bin it goes in the sea” was designed to inform about the importance of putting garbage in the right place and to make people aware of the negative impact of their behaviour. With three television commercials, in the three generalist channels, the campaign aims to inform the public in a direct and simple manner that, what does not go in the bin, goes in the sea. «The campaign messages are clear. If we do nothing, marine litter will continue to kill thousands of marine animals every year. If we do nothing, 30 years from now there will be more plastic in the sea than fish» says the CEO of the Oceano Azul Foundation, Tiago Pitta e Cunha.
